Scientific Anglers Fly Lines: Frequency Series

Frequency Value-priced Smooth Fly Lines

We are proud to offer the Frequency family of lines: the Trout and Double Tapers, built for precise
presentations; the Boost, a half-size heavy taper for handling bigger dries, nymphs, and streamers; the Magnum, an even more powerful line for the largest streamers and poppers; the Saltwater, for fish along the coastlines; along with Sink-Tip, Full Sink, and Intermediate lines for all your sub-surface needs.

Five floating tapers. Three sinking tapers. Limitless possibilities.

Frequency Trout GP

Finesse meets versatility. Trout GP adds slightly longer front and rear tapers with a ¼ size heavier weight, making it ideal for anglers who prefer lighter rigs. Perfect for general-purpose trout fishing without sacrificing performance.

Features:

  • Utilizing the tapered belly from Infinity, Trout GP has a slightly longer front and rear taper and ¼ size heavy weight scheme. Compared to Infinity, Trout GP leans more finesse but is still a capable general purpose trout line.
  • The choice for anglers who don’t consistently fish heavy rigs like large streamers or bulky indicators.
  • Braided multifilament core

Frequency Magnum

The Frequency Magnum summed up in six words: big flies, big fish, small price. Designed with an aggressive weight-forward head, the Magnum fly line is built for tossing large flies, turning over split shot, and blasting through the wind. In other words, this line is a bit of a bully – which is great if you’re targeting bass, big trout, and light saltwater game. It’s nice to have some muscle on your side.

Features:

  • For use in cold to moderate climates
  • Turns over large dries, streamers, and split shot with ease
  • For use in both fresh- and saltwater environments
  • Overweighted design loads fast-action rods
  • Braided multifilament core

Frequency Sink Tip

In moving water, getting flies below the surface while maintaining control can present a challenge. That’s why sink tip fly lines were introduced. We took this idea, put it at an affordable price point, and came up with the Frequency Sink Tip. Featuring a Type III 10′ sinking tip, the Frequency Sink Tip is great for streamer fishing from a boat, while wading, or just about anywhere – mall water fountains excluded.

Features:

  • For use in cold to moderate climates
  • Ideal for streamers and wet flies for trout, steelhead, salmon, and smallmouth bass in moving water
  • Fast-sinking 10’ tip sinks flies through the water column
  • Mid-length head enhances control
  • Best used in moving water
  • Sink Rates: 2.5 – 4.0 ips (Type III)
  • Braided multifilament core

Frequency Intermediate

There are times where you need to get your fly underwater, but not too far under the surface. That’s when you need the Frequency Intermediate fly line. Built with a slow sink rate, the Frequency Intermediate will pull streamers and wet flies under surface chop to get them where the fish are. Perfect for stillwater situations, and good for chucking streamers in rivers as well, at this price, it would be silly not to get one.

Features:

  • For use in cold to moderate climates
  • Especially effective for fishing streamers
  • Thin diameter cuts through wind
  • Ideal for use in stillwater situations
  • Mid-length head for enhanced line control
  • Sink Rate: 1.25 ips (Intermediate)
  • Braided multifilament core

Frequency Full Sink

If there’s a better way to fish lakes and ponds than with a full-sinking line, we haven’t found it. The Frequency Full Sink is the perfect sinking fly line for stillwater anglers; it handles streamers and wet flies with aplomb, cuts through the wind, and features a mid-length head for great line control. We built the Frequency Full Sink with two sink rates and the idea that great subsurface lines don’t have to cost a fortune.

Features:

  • For use in cold to moderate climates
  • Especially effective for fishing streamers
  • Thin diameter cuts through wind
  • Ideal for use in stillwater situations
  • Front welded loop on Sink 3; Sink 6 includes braided loop connection
  • Mid-length head for enhanced line control
  • Sink rates available:
    • Sink 3: 2.5–4 inches per second
    • Sink 6: 5–6 inches per second
  • Braided multifilament core
