The Nautilus X-Series is an open-frame reel designed for lightness, strength, drag smoothness, and fast line pick up. The X-Series design has strong beams that extend from the center to a wide line guard. These angles allow for rear spool rim protection where the reel typically contacts the ground when the rod is leaned up against a wall or a car.
The totally new SCF-X drag is a sealed Teflon® and carbon fiber disc drag system. It is adjusted with a generous drag knob that offers superior gripping surface and texture for wet and cold fingers.
The highly ventilated arch design, coupled with the dual palming rim increases spool strength by 35%. The sides of the frame leave the spool totally exposed, and the back spool rim has a generous 1/8″secondary palming rim for added fish control. This heavy-duty secondary palming rim has the strength to withstand everyday wear and tear.
The spool is a new spin on our ultra light, award winning Giga arbor design. It is lighter than any spool of a similar size we have ever made.
Available in three frame sizes: XS – 3.25” diameter, XM – 3.5” diameter, and a 4” frame XL that will accept the standard XL Giga arbor spool for a 6/7 weight and the XL MAX Giga arbor spool that will fit an 8/9 weight line. While only weighing a mere 4.7 ounces the XL and XL MAX will handle your larger fresh water species and light salt water needs perfectly.

CCF-X2 Series

The newest addition to the Nautilus family is the CCF-X2. The CCF-X2 Disc Braking System is an upgraded, stronger, lighter version of the Cork and Carbon Fiber brake of its predecessor. It features twice the drag surface in a dual-action brake configuration. Coupled with hybrid ceramic bearings, the reel delivers less than 1% startup inertia at all drag settings. This brake unit is feather light and can be easily switched from RH to LH retrieve. The Brembo® brakes of fly fishing.
All CCF-X2 reels feature the fish-fighting big game handle and are fully sealed using our proprietary Activseal technology. The Nautilus ActivSeal™ is a precision machined proprietary seal that’s featured in all our CCF-X2 and NV series reels. The ActivSeal actively repels water, sand, salt and any other contaminant to keep the braking system intact and consistent. Whether great lakes steelheading in 20-degree weather or on a Seychelles flat in 100-degree tropical torture, ActivSeal technology keeps your reel functioning at the highest level, despite the elements. Dunk it and batter it with sand, then go back to fishing. Other components included in the CCF-X2 line are hybrid ceramic bearings, TPX bushings and an oversized drag knob to adjust the smoothest drag from zero to max in 6 full turns with our Infinajust system.
The 6/8 is a 4-inch large arbor 6-8 weight reel. For more line pick up, the 8/10 is a great 8 weight with almost 12 inches of line pick up with a WF8 line per turn of the handle. The 4.5-inch 8/10 and 10/12 reels share the same frame and the spools can be interchanged for a set up that covers 8 to 12 weight lines with just an extra spool.
The Silver King is the latest addition to the CCF-X2 line and is the world’s lightest 5-inch diameter true big game reel on the market. This dominator of all things silver picks up 14-inches of line per turn of the handle and will reel in your prize like none other.
In addition, this reel is fully sealed and loaded with hybrid ceramic bearings, TPX bushings and an oversized drag knob with Infinadjust range settings.

GT Series – GTS, GTR, GTX

In 2017 we introduced the GTX. A reel in a class of its own. Designed to be fished beyond IGFA regulations with a maximum drag of 25+ pounds, the GTX was built to put the brakes on the fastest and strongest fish on the planet. The plan was to make the biggest, lightest, strongest reel possible, test it in a tug of war against animals and the elements, tweak it to perfection and use it to design a series of more compact GTX reels that would replace our ever-popular NVG series.
The hallmark performance, aesthetics, and ergonomics of the GTX were seamlessly adapted into the new, smaller GT series reels. Each model incorporates the lessons and breakthroughs developed during the GTX’s evolution.
One standout feature of the GT series is its tailored drag adjustment system. For example, the GTX featured a single-turn drag adjustment, to cover 90% of fishing scenarios. In contrast, the GTS—designed for line classes 5 to 8—offers a dual-turn drag system. The first turn is optimized for 5 and 6 weight setups, while the second turn provides enhanced performance for 7 and 8 weight conditions.

DETAILS
The Pentadrag braking system features three cork and carbon fiber surfaces and two free floating carbon fiber surfaces, which are topped with a Kevlar®/carbon fiber hybrid precision plate that ensures even pressure at all points of the drag surfaces. The cork acts as an insulation and compression material to ensure a smooth drag transition, while the carbon fiber delivers the market-leading and overall smoothness that Nautilus Reels is known for.
Giga: The Uber arbors of fly-fishing reels. Reel in more than a foot per turn of the handle. A unique design feature of these spools is grooves that let the bottom of the backing breathe to promote faster drying. The giga arbors have redefined large arbor reel design.

The GripTorq is an intricately machined proprietary 4 axis drag knob that promote light weight, strength and more grip than on any other drag knob in the industry. The GTX GripTorq drag knob measures 1.9″ in diameter and adjusts the drag from zero to max in 1 1/4 turn.
